On Aug. 19 in Beijing, China’s science minister Yin Hejun met Chilean foreign
minister Perez to discuss deepening China–Chile science and innovation
cooperation. Yin said the two countries’ science strategies are highly aligned,
creating broad scope for expanded, institutionalized cooperation that has
developed under bilateral leadership. China expects technology cooperation to
support both countries’ economic and social development. Perez affirmed the
partnership’s results, called tech cooperation a core element of the
comprehensive strategic relationship, and said Chile is willing to increase
researcher exchanges and deepen practical collaboration.
