Japan's Nikkei 225 jumped on Thursday after U.S. steps to stabilise the Treasury
market pushed U.S. yields lower, lifting risk appetite and prompting flows back
into risk assets. Among Nikkei 225 components, 182 advanced, 42 fell and 1 was
unchanged. Top movers: Sumitomo Metal Mining +10.76%, Sumitomo Pharma +8.48%;
Kansai Electric +8.37%, its biggest single-day gain since Aug 2024. Nomura
strategist Wataru Akiyama said the decline in yields was the key market driver.
Stocks that had lagged the AI and semiconductor rally also posted notable gains.
