On the 20th in Seoul, South Korea's President Lee Jae‑myung met China's foreign
minister Wang Yi. Wang said China remains a force for peace and stability, said
China will become the world’s largest market and expressed willingness to share
development opportunities with neighbours. He urged Seoul to maintain a
pro‑China policy, use next year’s 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties to deepen
the China–South Korea strategic partnership, and called for both sides to
promptly complete second‑phase FTA negotiations to advance regional economic
integration while resisting fragmentation and rising protectionism.
