Shanghai Gold Exchange gold T+D rose 1.02% to 976.38 yuan/gram in early trade on Friday, Aug 21; silver T+D rose 2.1% to 16506.0 yuan/kg.

Bosch China president Wu Yongqiao said domestic passenger car demand was under pressure in Jan–Jul while exports rose 73% YoY. He expects two Chinese automakers to each export over 2 mln vehicles this year and forecasts total Chinese OEM exports could exceed 10 mln units. Wu warned foreign governments may increasingly require Chinese firms to localize production overseas and projected Chinese-brand overseas local manufacturing could surpass 20 mln vehicles. Bosch is deepening integration with leading domestic automakers to help them meet stricter regulations and scale for global markets.
