Korea Exchange activated the sidecar mechanism on the KOSDAQ.

At an Aug. 21 press briefing the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) said it has planned ten flagship projects for Phase II of its Quality-Strengthening-the-Chain initiative following a successful Phase I. Phase II will continue priorities including high-end instruments, new energy and industrial robots; expand into embodied intelligent robots and solid-state power batteries; and add industrial machine tools, drones and advanced synthetic biological manufacturing, using a 'three-batch' layout to carry forward, broaden and introduce targeted focus areas.

CPCA data: August was not a seasonal peak; extreme heat and typhoons kept volumes low but recovery momentum is building. Internal combustion engine sales remain pressured by high fuel prices and aging product cycles, likely to show a sizable YoY decline. New-energy vehicles are the structural growth driver. Preliminary estimate for the narrow passenger vehicle market is ~1.58 mln units; NEV retail about 1.04 mln and penetration roughly 65.8%.
