A-shares opened lower then rallied; at midday the Shanghai Composite was
unchanged, the Shenzhen Composite Index rose 0.63% and the ChiNext Index gained
1.21%. Shanghai- and Shenzhen-listed turnover was 1.25 tln yuan in the first
half, down 117.9 bln from the prior session. More than 3,500 stocks fell.
Gold-related names outperformed: Shen Zhonghua A posted a second straight daily
limit-up, Hunan Baiyin, Fuda Alloy and Baiyin Nonferrous hit limit-up.
CPO-related names recovered, with Tianyang New Materials, Xingwang Ruijie and
Kechuan Technology among the top movers. BC battery names advanced; Fuda Alloy
led, with Huamin, Jinfu Technology and Ruike Laser also higher. Oil & gas
extraction, salt-lake lithium, minor metals and MLCC concepts were among other
gainers. Grain-related stocks continued to pull back: Qiule Seed and Shennong
Seed fell over 11%, Jingliang Holdings and Wanxiang Denong dropped more than 9%.
Innovative-drug names retreated; Ha Sanlian hit limit-down, while Boteng, Anke
Biotech and Xidian Pharma were among the laggards.
