Premier Li Qiang chaired a State Council executive meeting calling for stronger
pre-emptive and source controls, comprehensive operations-and-maintenance and
risk inspections of power equipment and facilities, and tighter quality
oversight across design, construction and acceptance of new projects to ensure
safe, stable power-system operation. The meeting also urged boosting emergency
response capability for power accidents, accelerating technical and equipment
upgrades, and formalizing cross-department joint-management arrangements.
