SK Hynix (SKHY.O) said in a filing it has not decided whether to build a semiconductor production facility in Japan, responding to media reports. The company said it is evaluating options, including adding production bases to strengthen its memory chip business, but has made no determinations. It will disclose further information when details are confirmed or within one month of this filing.

At the morning close, China’s front-month futures were mostly higher. Container shipping — Europe route — led gains, up nearly 9%; Shanghai silver rose over 4%. Platinum and lithium carbonate each gained more than 3%; pulp rose about 3%. Polysilicon, palladium and fuel oil advanced over 2%. On the downside, rapeseed meal and rapeseed oil fell nearly 2%; apples, Soybean No.1, stainless steel (SS), red dates and PVC were down more than 1%.

Nomura said Kuaishou (01024.HK) reported Q2 results broadly in line with expectations, but its core businesses (e-commerce and livestreaming) are slowing faster than the bank had expected. Nomura maintained a Neutral rating and cut its PT to HK$40 from HK$51.
