Iran's parliament will review a finalized preferential trade agreement with Oman, Al Jazeera reports.

Chongqing municipal government issued its 15th Five-Year (2026–2030) Beautiful Chongqing plan, directing low-carbon upgrades of transport equipment: accelerate new-energy vehicle adoption, electrify public-sector fleets, and promote battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell commercial vehicles; construct zero-carbon transport corridors; retire and replace aged commercial vessels and promote new-energy/clean-energy ships; retrofit existing transport infrastructure for energy and carbon reductions and build a batch of low-carbon stations, berths and highway service areas.

PHIVOLCS reported a M5.1 earthquake near Agusan del Norte at about 17:12 on Aug. 21. Hypocenter depth 10 km; shaking was felt in multiple localities. The agency said the quake is not expected to cause damage.
