China's foreign minister Wang Yi met Luhut, chairman of Indonesia's National
Economic Council, in Jakarta on 22. Wang said bilateral ties remain on a
positive trajectory under the strategic guidance of President Xi and President
Prabowo, and described China as a reliable, long‑term strategic partner for
Indonesia's development. He said China and Indonesia, as leading representatives
of the Global South, should leverage geographic proximity and economic
complementarity to deepen cooperation. China is willing to fully use the
comprehensive strategic dialogue and the 2+2 dialogue mechanism to reduce
interference, strengthen mutual trust, tap additional cooperation potential and
upgrade cooperation across sectors.
