Analyst Ben Cahill says early weeks featured an information vacuum and high uncertainty over U.S. policy and targets, which led markets to overreact to many posts. For months markets have largely ignored social-media commentary because it does not track on‑the‑ground reality; many of Trump's remarks on the Strait of Hormuz, policy and war aims show zero correlation with actual transit volumes. Cahill says the White House's earlier success in shaping the narrative and suppressing oil prices has now dissipated.
