On the 22nd, President Putin said Ukrainian forces have used missiles and drones against Russia over the past 40 days but have caused no substantive change. He said Russian forces have increased strikes on Ukrainian enterprises in response to attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure and that the retaliatory strikes are "more destructive."

On the 22nd, Israeli defense minister Katz said intercepted IDF intelligence indicated Turkey intended to conduct activities at Syria’s Abu al-Duhur airbase that would jeopardize Israel’s national security. The IDF had repeatedly recommended striking the site; after consultations with military and security officials Katz and Prime Minister Netanyahu first issued direct warnings to senior Syrian officials and shared the intelligence with US counterparts as a deterrent. When Syria did not heed the warnings, Katz and Netanyahu authorized an airstrike on the base. Turkey has not responded.
