Japan's state export insurer NEXI will insure an Inter-American Development Bank
(IDB) infrastructure loan to Brazil's Espírito Santo, signing the policy on
Monday, Nikkei reported. The deal, NEXI's first loan insurance for an
international organisation, aims to give Japanese firms regional intelligence
and IDB risk-assessment expertise as they expand into Latin and Central America
and to help secure oil and rare-earth supplies to ease rising economic-security
risks.
