Rezaei warned any U.S. action in the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz would be a target for Iranian strikes, and said Iran would also strike U.S. forces and any anti‑Iran regional actors meeting with them. He added talks with Oman on transit and trade through the Strait are progressing smoothly and Tehran expects to reach a final agreement.

According to the Washington Post, the number of U.S. service members wounded or killed in the war with Iran has risen to 774.
