Aug. 24, Beijing — Vice President Han Zheng met Kuwait's foreign minister. Han
said China and Kuwait have deep, long-standing ties and, under strategic
guidance from President Xi Jinping and Emir Mishal, bilateral relations have
maintained positive momentum. Marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties,
Beijing intends to implement leaders' consensus to consolidate political trust,
expand pragmatic cooperation, deepen multilateral coordination and elevate the
China‑Kuwait strategic partnership. Han said China will continue to encourage
talks and mediation to help restore peace and stability in the Middle East. The
Kuwaiti minister thanked China for long-standing support, reaffirmed Kuwait’s
adherence to the One‑China principle, praised China’s role in regional and
international affairs and said Kuwait will use the anniversary to deepen
cooperation across sectors.
