Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a routine briefing that Jordan’s King Abdullah II is visiting China. Lin said China and Jordan have traditionally friendly ties and Beijing will use the visit to advance the China‑Jordan strategic partnership. The ministry said it will release further details on the visit in due course.

Alibaba’s Damo Academy, together with Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University, developed a liver-cancer diagnostic AI, DAMO LiON, that uses CT imaging to identify small hepatic lesions. In a two-month real-world prospective clinical trial DAMO LiON identified 15 malignant tumours previously missed on review, most about 1 cm, enabling timely surgical or drug treatment. The study is published in Nature Medicine.

Iran's parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Committee spokesman Hassan Kashkavi said on Sunday the committee approved Article 3 of the Strategic Action Plan to Ensure Security and Development of the Strait of Hormuz, authorising charges for maritime services, environmental services, emergency fuel supplies, insurance, security and other services. Fees will be levied on vessels of countries permitted to transit the Strait and payable in rials or other currencies designated by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Kashkavi said littoral states' rights must be respected and that international law, while recognising freedom of navigation, also requires respect for coastal states' security and sovereignty.
