Iran's rial has fallen nearly 10% over the past two weeks and plunged earlier in
the war as the US prepares to unveil an "economic war" plan targeting Tehran,
Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati said on state television. Hemmati
described the recent depreciation as "temporary", said exchange rates will
fluctuate, blamed US political pressure for economic damage and added he expects
the situation to improve and the problem to be resolved.
