Germany's vice-chancellor and finance minister said the recent surge in global
bond yields stems from uncertainty caused by U.S. President Trump's war in Iran,
which has disrupted the global energy supply balance. He warned higher yields
are worsening Europe's economic strain, including higher gas prices, and placed
responsibility on the White House. In May he said Germany now expects more than
€50bn less tax revenue by the end of the decade, blaming Trump's "reckless war"
and the ensuing global energy price shock.
