Coastal localities and relevant provincial units were ordered to closely monitor the storm, immediately activate the "1833" joint-command system, and, per emergency and defense plans, orderly execute key-ship sheltering and port anchoring, suspend maritime routes, close coastal tourist sites, and evacuate aquaculture rafts and offshore construction personnel, among other protective measures.

UK Maritime Trade Operations said it received a report of an incident 63 nm west of Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The report said a tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile, igniting a fire on the vessel’s main deck.
