China Consumers Association issued an advisory urging consumers to treat
generative AI as informational assistance only and not to rely solely on
AI-generated content when making decisions on pricing, fees, contract terms,
after-sales service or legal liability. It recommends verifying such material
through service providers’ official channels, contract texts, regulators or
other authoritative sources. The statement notes LLM-based generative AI is
rapidly being embedded in consumer scenarios and can improve convenience and
efficiency, but its outputs carry uncertainty and may be inaccurate, imprecise
or inconsistent with actual commitments.
