China Index Research Institute data show Jan–Jul 2026 launches of fitted-apartment projects in monitored cities totaled 346, down 30.1% YoY; fitted units were 198,000, down 33.8% YoY. July launches numbered 46 (−14.8% YoY, −29.2% MoM); fitted units 26,900 (−8.5% YoY). The average fitted rate for residential projects Jan–Jul was 25.5%, down 1.94 percentage points YoY. By city tier: first-tier 90.6% (+0.25 pp), second-tier 33.4% (−3.05 pp), third‑/fourth‑tier 12.4% (−1.69 pp). South China recorded the highest regional fitted rate at 49.5%.
