The company has completed development of a cloud-based takeover platform and is targeting passenger operations without safety drivers next year. Xpeng has formed a group-level business development team and is in talks with domestic and overseas partners to commercialise and internationalise its Turing AI chip, second-generation VLA model, Robotaxi and humanoid-robot technologies.

Research firm Digitimes says AI-driven infrastructure spending is accelerating and major cloud providers will increasingly prioritize operational efficiency and financial discipline in H2 2026. Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft posted combined Q2 cloud revenue of $106.3bn, up 43% YoY—the fastest pace since 2020. Digitimes expects Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet and Meta to lift aggregate capital expenditure to a record $745bn. While firms remain constructive on AI demand, rising investment costs have pressured free cash flow, prompting cost controls, financial adjustments and more efficient AI service offerings as providers seek to balance growth targets with mounting investment risk.
