Jan–Jul saw 38,000 newly established foreign-funded enterprises; actual utilized FDI fell YoY but the rate of decline narrowed by 6.2 percentage points to RMB 438.33 billion. FDI into high‑technology industries rose 32.7% YoY in the first seven months and accounted for more than 40% of FDI inflow growth. Surveys by US and EU chambers report most foreign firms in China remain profitable and intentions to increase investment have generally strengthened. The 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade will be held Sept. 8–11 in Xiamen, Fujian.
