Guotai Fund Management Co., Ltd said its Nasdaq-100 ETF (trading name: Guotai Nasdaq ETF; ticker 513100) was trading materially above its reference net asset value, producing a large premium. To protect investors, the fund will suspend secondary-market trading from market open on Aug 26, 2026 until 10:30 that day. The manager warned of premium risk and possible significant losses from blind purchases.

Japan will propose about JPY100bn (≈$628m) in the FY2027 budget to help domestic firms buy submarine cable‑laying vessels, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications plans to include in a budget request scheduled for end‑August. The ministry would cover roughly half of procurement costs; each ship could cost more than JPY40bn. The proposal targets purchase of 3–5 vessels in FY2027, citing rising procurement costs driven by yen weakness and higher raw‑material prices.
