Zhanjiang Maritime Safety Administration said Typhoon Zitan’s impact has eased
and sea winds have subsided, allowing Qiongzhou Strait roll-on/roll-off
passenger-vehicle ferry services to resume from 14:00 on Aug 26. As of 08:00 on
Aug 26, about 2,200 freight trucks were queued outside ports awaiting crossing;
no small passenger vehicles remained stranded. Port clearance and transport
operations are reported under control.
