Four sources said this week that, for safety reasons, at least three Indian
refiners and one global energy major plan to stop using vessels Iran added to a
new blacklist, including ships used for ship-to-ship transfers. Iran on Sunday
published a list of 45 vessels it said breached its Strait of Hormuz passage
rules and warned it would act against any ships transshipping cargo with them.
The statement appears aimed at disrupting so-called shuttle shipments by Gulf
producers such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
