China shares closed higher on Aug 26. China's Shanghai Composite Index rose 23.08 points (+0.59%) to 3,912.52; Shenzhen Composite Index gained 95.46 points (+0.69%) to 13,841.33. The CSI 300 index added 38.76 points (+0.85%) to 4,590.79; ChiNext rose 17.37 points (+0.51%) to 3,414.88; STAR 50 climbed 27.43 points (+1.71%) to 1,632.02.

NASA said on the 25th two astronauts completed a roughly 6-hour-30-minute spacewalk to install and connect a spare ground-to-space high-rate communications antenna on the International Space Station. The astronauts, NASA’s Anil Menon and ESA’s Sophie Adenot, had removed a failed antenna during a spacewalk on the 18th but were unable to install a replacement then due to time constraints. During the latest EVA they installed and connected the spare antenna and secured the removed faulty unit to a spare-parts platform on the station truss.
