Aug 25, 2026 — China convened a national raw materials industry symposium in
Ningbo, Zhejiang, directing the industrial and information authorities to target
basic completion of new-type industrialization during the 15th Five-Year period,
balance domestic and international conditions and development with security, and
pursue high-quality growth driven by reform and innovation. Policy priorities
are upgrading traditional industries, accelerating advanced materials
innovation, strengthening resource-security measures, and locally tailored
cultivation of new productive forces. Authorities called for faster
digitalization, green transformation and cross-sector integration to steer the
raw materials sector from scale leadership toward comprehensive competitiveness.
