Jiangsu issued a three-year action plan to boost high-quality biomedicine
development, pledging to完善 the province’s diversified payment system. The plan
encourages commercial health insurers and medical mutual-aid schemes to include
innovative drugs in their coverage and to strengthen benefit products such as
Jiangsu Yihui Bao. The provincial medical insurance authority will leverage the
healthcare industry’s trusted data space to support qualified commercial
insurers with data integration, settlement and clearing; cases of
innovative-drug use covered by commercial plans may be exempted from
case-based/DRG payment and reimbursed following review and evaluation.
