Today (26th) the Ministry of Water Resources activated its major water/drought disaster dispatch mechanism and convened an emergency meeting to coordinate response to debris flows in Jilong County, Tibet. It reviewed rainfall and glacier/glacial-lake area changes, conducted cause analysis, assessed downstream population distribution and risk exposures, and shared findings with the Tibet water resources department to guide emergency handling.
