As China advances high-level opening, Hitachi Energy (China) announced about $300m of strategic investment at a ceremony in Hefei for a new digital tap-changer production line and the ground‑breaking of an ultra‑high‑voltage bushing project — among the company's largest recent investments in China. Foreign firms are shifting activity in China from manufacturing toward local R&D and global services, citing China’s large market scale, consumption upgrades and strong technology-driven industrial upgrading as drivers of continued capital inflows, an Anhui University economics faculty member said.
