A WHO expert said on the 26th the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of
Congo remains highly active and has not reached a turning point. As of the 24th
the DRC reported 5,656 confirmed cases, 2,715 deaths and 1,245 recoveries,
implying a case fatality rate of about 48%. The expert said the acceleration of
spread has slowed but the epidemic curve has not yet peaked.
