At the midday close, China’s main futures contracts were mixed: ethylene glycol
(EG) fell over 4%; soda ash and caustic soda dropped over 2%; PET chips,
methanol and stainless steel slipped about 2%; platinum, Shanghai tin, alumina,
short fiber, palladium and rapeseed declined over 1%. Gains included rapeseed
meal up nearly 3%; soybean meal, Soybean No.2, synthetic rubber and SC crude up
more than 2%; coking coal up about 2%; rubber and ferrosilicon up over 1%.
