The Ministry of Ecology and Environment on July 27 released July air quality
data showing continued improvement across 339 prefecture-level and above cities.
The share of days rated good averaged 92.5%; days with severe or worse pollution
averaged 0.1%, down 0.1 percentage point YoY. PM2.5 averaged 13.9 µg/m3, down
4.1% YoY; PM10 averaged 26 µg/m3, down 7.1%; ozone averaged 132 µg/m3, down
4.3%. Regionally, Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei and surrounding “2+36” cities saw the
share of good days rise 2.4 percentage points YoY and recorded no
heavy-pollution days. In the Yangtze River Delta, PM2.5 across 31 cities fell
10.9% YoY and the share of good days reached 96.7%, the largest improvement.
