China's Shanghai Composite Index closed down 0.11%, the Shenzhen Composite Index
fell 0.68% and the ChiNext Index declined 1.41%. Combined turnover on the
Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses was CNY2.1 trillion, down CNY24.2 billion versus
the prior session. The agricultural planting sector extended gains: Wanxiang
Denong recorded a nine-day run with six daily limit-ups and Xinsai Co. posted a
second straight limit-up. Chemical pharmaceutical names rallied into the
close—Yuheng Pharmaceutical hit the limit, with Dongya Pharmaceutical, Shenqi
Pharmaceutical, Keyuan Pharmaceutical, Haixiang Pharmaceutical and Zhongzhe Fine
Chemical also rising. Real estate stocks showed strength; Shenwuye A and I Love
My Home hit daily limits, while Tefa Service, WorldUnion (Shilianhang), Tibet
Urban Investment, Shahe Co. and Fuxing shares advanced. CRO-related stocks slid
sharply: Wanbang Pharmaceutical plunged more than 15%, Jin'an Protein and
CanSino Biologics dropped over 10%, and Baihua Pharma, Hongbo Pharma, Lanwei
Medical, Boji Pharmaceutical and Chengda Pharmaceutical also fell.
