On its earnings call, Meituan said Q2 gains in user mix, order mix and operational efficiency continued to strengthen. Management expects Q3 food-delivery unit economics (UE) to improve year-on-year; seasonality should pull UE down quarter-on-quarter but it is expected to remain positive.

Ukraine's agriculture minister Taras Vysotsky said Friday food exports so far in August totalled 1.42 million tonnes, including 822,000 tonnes of grain; full-month exports could reach 1.7 million tonnes. He said the Odessa port hub has effectively halted operations since late July after Russian drone and missile strikes on terminals and vessels. Before the seaport blockade, Ukraine's monthly food exports were at least 4 million tonnes.
