Senate Minority Leader SCHUMER said six months after Trump launched a war with Iran, the conflict has put US troops at risk, pushed oil prices higher and heightened global instability.

Fed chair Kevin Warsh said he is impressed by overall economic performance and that the economy appears to have strengthened, citing resilience of the real economy and Wall Street under stress. He added that, given current market rates and the Fed’s unchanged short-term policy rate since December, credit and loan markets show almost no sign of policy constraint — comments that could bolster the case for additional rate hikes if inflation persists. Warsh acknowledged pressure in housing and agriculture but said it is difficult to describe overall financial conditions as restrictive.
