Iran central bank said it launched a new phase of FX policy and began injecting up to $500 million of cash foreign exchange into the banking system from Tuesday. Trading data showed demand was weak: by Thursday banks and exchange outlets had purchased just $20 million. The central bank said it remains able to meet valid orders to banks and their exchange counters up to the $500 million cap and that the supply programme will continue.
