A recent Aug. 22–26 competition fielded 2,056 robots from 666 teams across 16
countries; Cheng Hao, founder and CEO of Acceleration Evolution, said current
robots are roughly at the capability level of a human 3–4 years old, but
abilities can be rapidly replicated across units, which may speed on‑field
progress. In real‑world deployment, continuous operating time, task success
rate, degree of human assistance and cost‑benefit will be the hard commercial
metrics. The 2026 Humanoid Robot Industry Development Report shows China shipped
over 40,000 humanoid robots in 1H 2026, signalling a shift from pilot trials
toward routine deployment and scaled commercialisation.
