Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported Israeli forces destroyed a nursing home in Hula, southern Lebanon. NNA said an Israeli drone fired a guided missile at an open area between Jarmaq and Kfar Reman. Earlier Israeli artillery shelled the outskirts of Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, and there were reports of a large explosion between Markaba and Rabs al-Sarasin.

US Central Command commander Brad Cooper said on Aug. 28 that about 50,000 U.S. troops are deployed in the Middle East, many conducting a maritime blockade of Iran. He said that since the blockade was resumed in mid‑July more than 20 warships have been sustaining the operation.
