China Eastern Airlines disclosed on Aug 30 that 1H revenue was 74.23 bln yuan, up 11.09% YoY. Net loss attributable to shareholders was 2.179 bln yuan versus a 1.431 bln yuan loss a year earlier; basic EPS -0.11 yuan. Company cited a sharp rise in jet fuel prices as the primary drag on results.

China's ecology and environment minister Huang Runqiu and his New Zealand counterpart held the seventh China–New Zealand ministerial dialogue on climate change. Huang outlined China's recent climate actions and climate work deployments for the 15th Five-Year period, set out China's position on advancing global climate governance, and flagged expectations for COP31 in Antalya. He proposed deepening China–New Zealand climate policy dialogue and practical cooperation; both sides said they would continue constructive cooperation on environment and climate issues.
