The Wall Street Journal reports draft IPO filings show SoftBank-backed SB Energy
granted OpenAI warrants with an estimated value of about $5.5 bln as part of
efforts to secure OpenAI as a data‑center tenant; OpenAI is already an investor.
SB Energy is preparing an IPO, expected to file as soon as this week and
potentially list next month, targeting $5–7 bln in proceeds and working with
bankers. Filings indicate SoftBank and OpenAI plan to be tenants of three data
centers; a fourth site in Scurry County, Texas has 900 MW capacity and no
identified tenant. Current data‑center customers are predominantly corporate
investors, per the filings.
