NBS service survey chief Huo Lihui said August manufacturing PMI rose to 49.8%, up 0.6 ppt month-on-month; non-manufacturing business activity index was 49.0%, unchanged; composite PMI output index was 49.5%, up 0.2 ppt m/m, signaling a modest improvement in overall output conditions.
