At Bishkek on Aug. 31 during the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit,
CHINA met Russian President Putin. CHINA said accelerating global uncertainty
has increased unpredictability in the international outlook but states’ pursuit
of peace, development and cooperation remains unchanged, and said it will work
with Russia and other members to strengthen the SCO’s role in regional stability
and development, help the organization sustain steady long-term growth, and
expand its influence in global governance reform and promotion of an orderly
multipolar world.
