Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said China and Nepal maintain cooperation
on meteorology, water management and disaster prevention. After the Nepal
landslides, Beijing kept smooth contact with Kathmandu on search-and-rescue,
information sharing and preventing secondary disasters, continuously providing
meteorological and hydrological data, conducting expert consultations and
issuing related early warnings. He did not specify whether data were shared
hourly or daily. China said it will continue to support Nepal’s relief efforts
and deepen cooperation on disaster prevention and mitigation.
