Shanghai rolled out property measures known as the 'eight measures' on Aug 20 to
smooth primary–secondary housing replacement. On Sep 1 the Shanghai Housing
Authority said market feedback has been positive and trading picked up after
implementation. In August combined primary and secondary housing transaction
area was 2.21 mln sqm (24.3k units), +2% MoM and +15% YoY. The authority said
the measures, building on earlier 'six' and new 'seven' Shanghai policies, are
helping consolidate market stabilization and are expected to support firmer
activity in Sept–Oct.
