IAEA assesses the fuel for the Deir ez-Zor nuclear reactor was manufactured at a site in Syria.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service said Russian forces struck Kyiv on Sept. 1, killing eight and injuring five, including three children. The agency said the attacks hit civilian infrastructure and residential areas: two fires broke out in Darnytskyi district; a non-residential building in Holosiivskyi district suffered a 40 sq m fire that was extinguished; and a drone struck a residential block in Solomianskyi district, causing partial damage to the building.
