Iran’s military public relations department said in the 29th phase of “Thunder”
operations it used a large number of attack drones to strike Sheikh Isa Airbase
in Bahrain, calling the facility one of the Persian Gulf’s most important and
sensitive US bases. Tehran said the base conducts helicopter and drone component
maintenance and hosts reconnaissance aircraft, and framed the strike as a
response to “enemy attacks” on southern Iran. The military warned of “severe
retaliation” against related parties; the US and Bahrain have not yet confirmed
or responded.
