Prime Minister Netanyahu said on the 1st that Shin Bet and the Israel Defense Forces conducted an operation in the Gaza Strip and captured a senior Hamas member near his residence. Netanyahu identified the detainee as head of Hamas’s internal security organ and a senior leader who was responsible for concealing and moving detained Israeli personnel, sheltering senior Hamas figures, and participating in building and restoring the group’s military capabilities.
