On Sept 1 the National Energy Administration said China’s new-type power grid will link upstream renewable generation with downstream industrial and residential demand, creating strong spillovers and requiring large-scale investment that supports near-term investment and long-term structural adjustment. The NEA instructed authorities to speed approval and construction of major grid projects including transmission corridors, strengthen overall coordination of new-grid development, and step up policy support and implementation.

Wenzhou, Zhejiang recorded area-averaged rainfall of 143.8 mm in the past 24 hours. Forecasts call for heavy to very heavy rain today and showers with localized moderate-to-heavy rain tomorrow. Under the city’s flood-control emergency plan, the Wenzhou flood-control command raised the emergency response to Level I effective 09:00 on Sep 2. Local governments and relevant departments were instructed to implement flood-control measures.
